Photoshop
1. For this image, I made changes in Photoshop. I changed the text in the text message because it corresponds to my narrative. My twin sister and I originally shared a phone together, and this phone is my first own phone without sharing it with her. I also painted the person's nails in the picture because I wanted the picture to show it's a girl (aka me).
2. My friend's name was Lindsey. I butt dialed her and she heard me talking behind her back and she got mad. So she texted me saying "Are you serious?" In this photo, I photoshopped her name on top and I added the text of the convo.
3. My old phone that I used to shared used to be a flip phone. The new phone I got for myself was a touch screen/keyboard phone. I put a less than sign to show that I didn't like my new phone because the touch screen made me butt dial Lindsey. My flip phone wouldn't do that. I photoshopped the less than sign between the two phones. I inserted and cropped the two pictures to make sure they were side by side with a space in the middle.
4. This is a phone call from my friend Lindsey when she was mad at me. In photoshop, I inserted her name at the top to show that she was the one calling me. I also put a red box around the "Accept" sign to show that I accepted the call and picked up.
5. This shows that I was on the phone with Lindsey. When I needed advice from my sister, Daniela, I put the call on mute, so Lindsey couldn't hear me as I spoke to Daniela. I put a red box around the Mute button to show that it was on mute.
6. This was the word that Lindsey that made me feel so upset because I ruined such a great friendship. I photoshopped the "...Goodbye." in the speech bubble to show that is what Lindsey said to me. This was important because that word is such a strong word when you are fighting with someone. I felt like she was saying goodbye forever.
7. This photoshop honestly took the longest. I screenshotted a random status I found on Facebook and changed the text of everything. I changed the colors, fonts, size, and added bold to make sure everything looked just like a typical Facebook status. I even inserted pictures of those girls in the small profile box. I had to make sure everything was centered and cropped the same size. I added this photo because this was the status Lindsey wrote about me with comments from other people in my school.
8. I chose this picture to symbolize me sitting on the floor near the lockers upset. In the story, I tried to say hi to Lindsey but she ignored me, which is why I chose a picture by the lockers. I photoshopped a picture of a blank thought bubble and inserted the text to match my feelings from the story.
9. This was a text I texted Lindsey when her and her crush, Tyler broke up. I wanted her to feel better. I photoshopped the text in the text box to match what I said. This "text messaging" of my phone and I made sure to add the text in perfectly. I adjusted the sharpness of the image as well. I also added a red box around the "Send To" button to show that's a text I was going to send to Lindsey. I didn't want readers to be confused that that was a text I received.
10. I added brightness, contrast and saturation to edit the picture in Photoshop. I also added a red X over the phone in the back pocket on her jeans to show that I will not put my phone in my pocket because I don't want to butt dial anyone anymore. I made the X red because red symbolizes something that's bad.
